Changing Lives… Serving Communities, Since 1903

Client Choice Food Pantries

Dignity in a Time of Need

The Society’s Food Pantry operates in a customer-choice model like a grocery store, allowing customers, after a brief interview and consultation, to actually shop for food. This model honors and uplifts the dignity and ethnic diversity of the people we serve, promoting more efficient distribution of our charitable resources and minimizing waste.

  • Shoppers are assigned a quantity of points that are used for the shopping experience.
  • Shoppers are assigned a volunteer who mentors them through the shopping process, offering suggestions and tips for nutrition and food preparation.

Client Choice Food ShoppingWhen shoppers have made their selections, the food is packaged and prepared for them to take home.

The Client Choice Food Pantry is always in need of food and financial donations.  Food Drives are sponsored by a number of Churches and Conferences.  The Business community has also responded with drives throughout the year.  Individuals are another great support for the food item stock.  Additional individuals, families, church groups, civic groups and corporate/business groups are needed as hosts for food drives.
